Video games…the addiction that so many people have. They get addicted to the challenge, the creativity or the stories. But there’s one game that I always seem to go back to. And that’s Terraria.

If you aren’t familiar with Terraria, its a side scrolling pixel game made by the gods. In the standard/vanilla version of the game, you have roughly 18 bosses to get through. You start off in Normal mode, then after a certain boss, you automatically enter hard mode.

There are 4 different classes to choose from, melee, ranged, mage and summoner. Each of them have their own strengths and weakness. You don’t choose the class at the start of the game. You can change whenever you want while in the game. Different armour sets and accessories will help certain classes, so each build can be unique and give a different challenge.

I could be wrong. I think there are something like 400 odd weapons. There may be over 40 different sets of armour to pick from. It just makes the game feel so large! It’s not all fighting and bosses though, you have NPCs that you can move into your world. Some of the NPCs can spawn in certain conditions.

What makes Terraria better? Modded Terraria. I’ll be honest. I never liked the thought of modding before I had a PC. Maybe it was more of a jealous type of opinion. But now that I’ve got a PC and modding is available to me, I love it. It opens the game up so much, adds so much content. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve played through Terraria now.

One of my friends has just gotten a decent PC. I managed to introduce him to modded multiplayer Terraria last night. He loved it. Could see why I get so addicted!!

Anyway, I got up quite early to write this as I have to go to work in 45 mins. But have any of you played Terraria? Would you be interested in trying it? Let me know in the comments!
