Have you ever been camping?

Once. And I hated it.

To be honest, I haven’t tried camping since then. Maybe my thoughts on it might change now that I’m ‘slightly’ older. It happened when I was in Cubs. If you don’t know what Cubs is, think of it as a club for boys in the evenings. Girls had their own version – Rainbows. I can’t quite recall if it was for a weekend away or a week away. I’m not sure. But the whole club was going on this camping trip and I just didn’t want to go. Didn’t like the idea of it, didn’t like the thoughts of being stuck outside.

My parents though, really thought I’d enjoy it. So they did what they could to convince me. How did they do that? They promised to buy me each Power Ranger figure when I got back. This would happen if I managed to do the full break. The challenge was set, the incentive was given and accepted. So I went.

Now I don’t actually remember much about the trip itself, I remember walking around a field, looking at different activities. I remember trying to sleep in the cold sleeping bag. But other than that, I’ve blocked it all from my memories. The only other memory that’s still there is getting home and playing with my new Power Ranger toys.

So if you want me to go camping again, I do have an obsession with Monster Hunter Figures. Just an FYI.

Has anyone else been bribed to do something they didn’t want to do? Let me know!
