I haven’t had that many jobs to be fair. Let’s give them a listing and see what the total is.
- Litter Picker at a Car Boot ‘Event’.
- Yep, just a glamorous as you can imagine. When the Car Boot ends, we were paid to walk around the field picking up all the rubbish. I think it was something stupid, for like £9 or something similar.
- McDonald’s
- I think some sort of Fast Food or Retail is on everyone’s job listing at some point. I worked at McDonald’s while I was in college. Started wage was £3.85 an hour. Just mental.
- Prison Admin
- Probably my most interesting job, working as a mail man in the prison. Having to read letters, search for anything that shouldn’t be there. Such an interesting time. Shame it was only a temp position.
- Parts Manager / Receptionist
- Working for a Car Repair place as the parts manager and receptionist mix. Order any car parts that’s needed. Book people in etc. It’s amazing I got that role considering I know almost nothing about cars!!
- Office Admin – Team Leader – Bonded Admin – Customs Supervisor
- So all the above job titles are at the same company. Started off as a temp working in the warehouse goods in as an office admin. Worked my way up to Team leader, then moving over to the bonded side (That’s bonded…not bondage!). Eventually, due to Brexit, we created a Customs team. I was asked to become the Supervisor because of my experience with HMRC & Customs rules. Been in that role ever since.
So yea, 5 jobs in my 40 years. That’s pretty good! I’ve been pretty lucky with jobs to be fair. I know others aren’t so lucky. So I’m very grateful for everything I’ve worked through and survived!!
Is this more or less jobs than you’ve had? Let me know in the comments!
